Chrome Ring (X3) Radio Knobs

I'm after some help on the Chrome Ring (X3) radio knobs / buttons some people have upgraded to.

I have the CD Navigation system with 2 buttons but i've only seen the part number for one button and can't find anything on RealOEM.

For the standard buttons there is a left and a right part number as they are slightly different fittings.

02 BUTTON LEFT 1 09/2008 65126923321 $9.77
03 BUTTON RIGHT 1 09/2008 65126923322 $9.77

What you do is you order twice the same knob. Partnumber see pictures below. For a facelift headunit these will fit flawless, both left and right. For a pre facelift headunit the right one needs a bit of widening ...

Here's a few pics more:

Brilliant! Thank you so much!

This is why I love this forum!

Can I ask, what did you use to widen the opening?

Sure, no problem, that's indeed what forums are for.

I used a small drill in a standard. Not sure what size drill though, but just try and you may have to try agin, using a wider diameter. Colleagues of mine in the Dutch forum got to a similar result by using a small circular file.

For removing the old knobs: use a pair of pliers with some cotton (towel or so) in between. It is just brutal force you need there, but they are harsh to get a grip on, because of the rubber surface.
