Europe trip - the french leg?

As anyone got any recommendations for the French leg of our road trip in July?
So far the trip looks like;
• Plymouth to Kent after work
• Early tunnel crossing and a blast to Wurzburg
• 4 days exploring the romantic route ending in Fussen.
• Over the Alps to Verona
• 3 nights in Verona
• 3 nights based in Florence (day trips etc)
• La Spezia (visiting Pisa on route)
• Cote d’azur possibly staying in Nice
This is where we need help; we’ve got 6 days before catching the afternoon ferry from Roscoff to Plymouth.
Any ideas / recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Route des Alpes, a drive up through and over the Alps.
The A85 Route Napoloean from Grasse up to Grenoble. A must do drive.
The Verdon Gorge. As deep as the Grand Canyon, amazing drive, (remember the race on Top Gear, RS4 v Leo Houlding the climber?)
The Lot Valley in mid/west France. Beautiful part of the country often overlooked by those going to the Dordogne.
Drive from St Flour NorthWest across the Massif Central towards Eymoutiers. Very quiet fast sweeping roads in a seldom visited area. I'd spend 5 days in the southern half then hoof it up the autoroute to Calais.

Have a great trip...and planning the trip

Have done the grenoble-grasse / the Verdon gorge & the Massif central with the volcano landscape  all stunning drives & if taking the St Flour route you get the Millau Bridge as a bonus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXczwwtwY0M&playnext=1&list=PLFFF6466B1CC0E7E2&feature=results_main
Can also recommend if you get the opportunity to visit Oradour sur Glane near Limoges http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-3ypkT8UuQ & a stay over in Cognac .
That way you can get onto the A83 at Niort which is virtually toll free( in comparison to other routes north) the whole way to the ferry :)
Fougeres & Dinan are also worth a stop off nearer Roscoff

Thanks for advice, trip now finalised and hotels booked.
Me & Mrs Oddballs are very excited and can’t wait until July.
The full trip is now:
• Plymouth to Ashford after work
• Early tunnel crossing and a blast to Wurzburg
• 4 days exploring the romantic route ending in Fussen.
• Over the Alps to Verona
• 3 nights in Verona
• 3 nights based in Florence (day trips etc)
• 2 nights in Riomaggiore (visiting Pisa on route)
• 2 Nights in Cannes
• Drive to St Flour (via Millau bridge), stay overnight
• St Flour to Eymoutiers & onto Cognac, stay overnight
• To Roscoff & ferry home

I’ll post some pics when we get back

When in July? Wife and I will be there from 2nd to 18th, first 5 and last 5 days near Eymoutiers, the rest down in the Pyrenees on the motorbike.

Unfortunately we are travelling a little later; we pass through Eymoutiers on the 27th.
I’m slightly nervous that it’s the last weekend in July & traffic tends to be very heavy but I believe the worst jams are going north to south so should be OK.
What you riding in the Pyrenees?
I’ve been toying with the idea of putting the bike on the ferry to Santander and riding back to Roscoff so would be interested in seeing some pics etc of your trip.

Am heading to the Auvergne by bike on the 19th July for 10 days. Will be local to St Flour for some of it.
