Not sure if this has been discussed already but just been browsing photos of the new 3 series GT.

"BMW has revealed the new 3 Series Gran Turismo, the third and potentially most controversial variant in the latest F30 3 Series line-up. To make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the new 3 Series Gran Turismo goes on sale 15 June 2013 and prices start at £28,830."

Obviously similar concept to the not too successful 5 series GT, although I think this looks a little better, the profile and back actually remind me of the coupe.

Thoughts?

Its a 3 series hatchback essentially. No doubt a 'breakthrough'.. albeit hatchbacks have been around on larger cars since time began... Not for me.

I'm still saving for a 4 series coupe in a few years time.

So you're actively saving Maniac? I'd require evidence to show that you're putting away £10 a week into your piggybank!!!!
£10 a week (in coins) is about £500 a year. S taking into account you're 50 now, that's 50 years to save £25,000!!!!!

I wonder how many of us, actually physically put away money for a new car purchase/deposit, like a year or two in advance....

You know what I mean Mr Smarty Arse lol... and I'll glide gently past the 50 jibe too... wait till I see you next.

:) you don't look a day over 48 mate, sorry 8)

I'm still happy with my car for now, so not looking until about Spring to see what takes my fancy....Jonnyfive is looking at an SL55, I'm tempted to get one too. Used to have an SL500 for a month before Mercedes were forced to buy it back from me.....always loved the shape

BMW do blow hot and cold with their designs. They show us pics of the 4 series concept then they come out with things like this. I think that interns of the big hatchback Audi do it better with their sportbacks. I still can't understand why any of them can't use simple terms that we all understand like "hatchback" and "estate" instead of this avant, tourer, GT, Gran coupe, Sportback carry on.

I saw this on Autocar yesterday and nearly

It's not the ugliest car out there, close enough though, but honestly BMW when will you learn :poke:

Not all BMWs are made to satisfy the UK market. As I travel around to various places I see plenty of 5 GTs - particularly in the UAE - where the style and design suits the locals ( :P ). So BMW do learn - they learn to produce a car for the target market and it's not always the UK......

Interesting viewpoint - never thought of it like that. Bit like the X5M and X6M.

  I don't like ant of those GT things. Not my kind of car.
