X5 rims on the Z, for all those who thought it cant be done!

Looks different so it worked

Now raise the ride height, side steps, roof rails and bars and you could set a trend for weird cross-overs

Wow they have got the shock factor if nothing else :D

?..but it is probably enough to seriously affect the unsprung weight of the suspension...
The unsprung weight is the first thing I thought when I saw them

I think they'll actually be lighter than they look, maybe.

I've got mixed feelings. On the one hand, they add a kind of 'muscle supercar' flavour to the car, which is definitely good. On the other hand, they remind me of Fred Flintstone's wheel setup, but that might be down to the sheer colour contrast.

As for the unsprung weight, does anyone have the weight data? It would be interesting to compare them with the OEM set, because mere looks could be deceiving.

The shock factor is there, as Wondermike has already said!

cheers for the replies, glad theres different opinions, I knew they wouldnt be everyones cup of tea, but nice to see what people think

As for the weight of the wheels im going to weigh my old 108s & these and ill let you know, I dont think there going to be too much in it!

they will be coming off shortly as they need painting and balancing. once ive given it a proper run ill also let you how it handles, but at the moment its 10 times better as im not running run flats anymore :D

Yes they are 19x9 front & 19x10 rears :P

The concave rears are the main reason I wanted these wheels! I love wheels like that

Hopefully once the wheels are painted the attention wont be completely on the wheels, im thinking gloss black or a darker silver or anthracite colour, unsure exactly yet

Ray ive got a run about for winter so the Z4 gets tucked away in the garage untill its a little warmer or i get bored

Woody id have put the tiger claws on, but couldnt find a decent set

I'm no metallurgist, but i think its a safe bet to conclude that a wheel designed to carry a 2.5 tonne vehicle will be heaver than one for a 1340kg sports car.

cheers for the info, so in theory ive gained 3.2kg all round, anyone know roughly how much an 18 inch runflat weighs compared to a 19 inch normal tyre? Im sure runflats will weigh alot more than a standard tyre so ive probably lost weight? anyone have any ideas?

225/40/18 bridgestone runflat weight 12.7kg
255/40/18 -13.6kg

235/35/19 continental non run flat - 9.5kg
255/35/19 -10.8kg

cheers again for the info Marius! So by the looks of it, ive lost weight on each corner by fitting these wheels :P

bluestreak56 ive not taken it for a good thrash, but general driving about town which is what its used for 80% of the time its seems ok, The only difference is that the steering is a bit heavier which I actually prefer!

I quite like them.

A darker colour, shadow chrome maybe, will make them more subtle and match the black grills more.
