M Sport seat leather care...

I'm after any recommendations for a leather cleaner and protector for the M seats. I've always been a fan of Zymol but never used any leather care products before so open to suggestions. I want to retain the same look (i.e. I don't want them to turn shinny) but also offer some protection.

/Edit just read GAZA62's thread below, any other recommendations?

I know I will take some stick for this, but think about it.

Baby Wipes are what I use.

Hey mate your spot on with the baby wipes!!

I have used them for years on my sofa and they seam to have done the trick on the Zed to!

I use the 2 step Lexol Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. I hear Spinneybeck and Zaino are also great, just never used them. There is also some "Leatherique" product that I heard brief mention of and is supposedly the "best". Anyone else hear about this?

FWIW- I read recently that the best thing for the leather is just a simple wipe down with a damp microfiber. The reasoning was that over cleaning the leather removes some of the natural protectors in the leather and actually leads to expedited cracks. I read this on the leatherz website. No implied time frame was stated with regard to what 'over cleaning' would actually mean.

I will still stick to my monthly regimen of leather cleaning since I have had no adverse effects on the other Bimmers using the same method. I do use a damp Microfiber though whenever I clean the car to go over the leather which seems to follow what was recommended.

Long time fan of Leatherique, discovered it when I had my old Silver Shadow, and it's a great product, but it's more for reconditioning and deep cleaning. I use it twice a year, and the rest of the time I follow the usual method: I vacuum the seams thoroughly and wipe down the leather with a damp cloth once a week. What mostly causes wear is grit being rubbed into the leather - dirt on the seat, being rubbed into the material by (in my case) a 190lb weight. Creases and cracks are caused by dryness, which keep the leather from regaining it's shape. Keeping the seats clean and occasionally wetting with a cloth help both. If you over-condition the leather, you run the risk of rotting the threads, resulting in split seams as the weakened threads snap.

I would have thought that baby wipes would dry the leather out? Howver they dont seem to dry my childrens arses out but they are not made of black leather

Also y'all, is there a difference in treating the leather in m and non-m seats? I would think since they're both leather, both would get the same tx. I know different quality leather comes from different parts of the cow. Just wondering since this topic specifies the m seats.

I also use Meguiar's for spot clean-ups, however, I do not regularily treat the leather. Some years back a friend of mine had a car with gray leather seats. The brown from his leather jacket endedup rubbing off and staining the seat back. I have no proof, but I have always been afraid that leather protectors may loosen the dye in clothing and end up causing the same kind of problem.
