How can I tell if my Z has bluetooth capability?

On the screen it has a telephone option, but the only options that come up are BMW Assist and emergency calls. In the ccentre console there is a holder for a telephone. There are what appear to be voicecall buttons on the steering wheel and in the centre console. I've got a manual for "Operating Instructions for Mobile Phone Provision" I also have a single glossy page giving me a Bluetooth Passkey

So can I connect my mobile phone via bluetooth? Or is this just a BMW specific phone / BMW assist or something?

The instructions mention holding down the Voice button thingy down to "Logg on" but it doesn't seem to do anything??

Also you can check all your options using the 7 digits of your VIN and this link:

You have Bluetooth and it will pair with phones (it will not however receive Stereo from a music source )
in fact you are very fortunate you have the pass key card most people find it missing
Clear all existing pairings in Car end (instructions in Booklet ) then follow instructions to the lettear and you may need several attempts

This is what it says on the options list:

S612A BMW ASSIST BMW Assist
S633A PREP.MOB. PH. BUSINESS BLUET.INTERF. Preparation, mobile phone, Business

Has Bluetooth as above.

BMW Assist:

Every new vehicle equipped with Bluetooth telephone preparation and a navigation system, is entitled to a free of charge three year BMW Assist account.

It's supposed to automatically inform BMW in the event of an accident what is wrong with the car, number of airbags deployed, gps location etc.

Also some additional services at a monthly cost.

{"]Got it :) Although in the menus some of it is in French!! WTF??? :)
Have you installed the updated 'speed cam' settings for the SatNav firmware? This changes the language option for some menu options. Just switch off the speed camera warnings if you need the english option...
