I know you can pair upto 5 handsets in the car, but how does this work realiticially? I've got my iPhone paired currently. But now got a work BlackBerry. If i pair that, what will be "primary" phone so to spk. I.e what phone book will it pull up etc...

As I understand you can pair up to 5 phones but only one at a time, so if you have two in your pocket both turned on only one will link and it will be pot luck which one it is.

I may be wrong but that is how I understand things.

Yes it does work as I have several paired. The last one to be paired is the first to be sought when you turn on the ignition. If it can't find that then the ULF moves on to find the second and so on.

For this reason pair in the reverse order you want them to be sought so it's quick

CJ - mine works slightly different as it picks up the last one that was connected to the system first the next time.

Interesting as mine seeks them in the order paired (last paired first to connect) and yours of the last one connected?
Odd as I have ULF modules 8 and 12 in the Z and X so the 12 is near enough last generation and other mid life.

I can't comment on the Z as my phone is the only one paired, the X is used by both of us and that is where it connects whoever drove last. That is a 2005 car, so older than the Z with regards to ULF.

Can you still receive calls on both? So both BB and iPhone work...

Only one phone at a time can pair, so once once is paired then it locks any others out until you break the pairing (swith bluetooth off the phone, turn the ignition off, etc.) It tehn starts the process of looking for phones again

in my golf, the bluetooth will search for the last phone that was connected, if it can't find that it will then search for others
