I have just spent 45 minutes to clean the leather interior in my zed. The bottle is going to empty soon (Williams brand from Halfords). Anyone use BMW or zymol?

I've heard Gliptone is the best. Unfortunately I heard this about an hour after buying Meguiars leather cleaner/conditioner from Halfrauds. Doh! :D

Just did my leather with this kit and worked a treat. Comes highly recommended from Detailing World and you get 10% discount if ordering over phone and quoting your username (use mazda3_daveg if not a member  )

I suggest you read some of LLT's posts on Detailing World - they really know their stuff when it comes to leather:

Wonder what thats like love the smell you get in classic cars :D

I find Mer Leather Cleaner pretty good, seems to get off alot of dirt! I use it in the Z4 and on my sofas at home.

My last 325i coupe had silver grey leather (white basically). The drivers bolster was pretty filthy but came up a treat after a few hours of treatment with the Gliptone Liquid Leather cleaner and dye kit, so I recommend that also.

If you want to get your leather seats, door cards, gear stick and steering wheel to look factory matte, then give them the once over (post cleaning) with a Magic Eraser sponge, they are only £2 off eBay and you just need to put some water on them before use. Most people use these on their steering wheels to remove the shine, but I find it works well on anything leather. See the following thread for some amazing pics of the results a Magic Eraser sponge can achieve:

Have to agree with Dreamer, Gliptone have been leather experts for donkeys years. Just done my Dream Red Oregon Leather today, including touching up a nasty little bolster scuff caused by wearing new jeans I forgot had brass buttons on the rear pockets -ouch! They even matched it up to the year and age of the car! Seats are like new supple but nice dull non-slip finish so you don't slide around. Interestingly, the reason why leather "don't smell like it used to" is because of modern (cheaper) manufacturing methods used nowadays, not cow dung and urine or whatever they used in the past. Gliptone even do a proper "Leather" air freshener which you can hide in the car to give it that new leather seats smell....mmmmmmmm! 3 for £8 I think. Make sure you use cleaner before conditioner or the conditioner will soak the dirt further into the leather.

How did you get that touch up done? I have a couple of minor scuffs I wouldn't mind sorting out.

Having praised AG leather cleaner and Conditioner earlier in the thread and having since done a full interior detail with it... I've decided the cleaner has the consistency of alien saliva (from alien/aliens) and the conditioner smells horrible :)

Does a pretty good job of taking care of the leather, but the smell's horrid... So I'm going to get some gliptone for next time

IMO Gliptone smells minging but it does leave the leather smelling better at the end. And most of the scuffs I could see yesterday I can no longer see!
