Aero Wiper Blades

I need some new wiper blades on the Zed and Ive never been a fan of the "old school" type wipers.

My previous three cars, TT, A3 and 1series all had the Aero blades, which not only look better, they work much better and give a smoother cleaner wipe of the windscreen.

I thought as they need replacing I would take the chance to upgrade. Seen some on ebay saying they fit the Zed. Just wondered if anyone else has done the upgrade and if they work ok ( no lifting at speeds or anything like that) as I've often wondered why BMW never fitted them to later models i.e (06 onwards), when they were fitting them on all their other cars :?

I have the Bosch AeroTwin on mine and find them great...

they down clear the bottom left of the screen (where the tax disc is...) because of the curve of the screen. I dont find that a problem because I dont drive through that bit of the screen...

The OEM blades are too bulky and I find that they block my view out of the car, although I do tend have my seat set very low down

I think Ill give them a try then, just think the standard ones look so old fashioned and a bit cheap and nasty.. Little thinhs like that annoy me lol.

I use Aero style blades and they are excellent and certainly don't look as bulky as the standard variety.

I find my seat wont go low enough.. I like my backside to touch the cats eyes. (not literally).. before I get people on here hunting me down!!

and wiperblades dont let you select the Bosch aerotwins for our cars unless you KNOW the model number(s) you are looking for.

otherwise they are fine :roll:

Hmmmmm, just noticed it says Z3 in the item specifics but the title says Z4 02+ and my receipt says the same so should be ok... Maybe Z3 and Z4 are the same size ?? :?

That's driver and passenger side - they're different sizes...

I bought some cheap Aero blades off of ebay and binned them within 2 minutes, really bad quality.

Buy a decent brand if you choose to upgrade

Looks like i will be picking up some new aero wipers too... mine seem to streak a little in the middle now.

According to the manual with auto wipers they should be changed every 12 months

Absolute rubbish though, replace them when they look like they need it!

They seem pretty good quality for the price however the drivers side wiper leaves a small patch smeared just left of centre on the return wipe. Really annoying and just in the way. I think this is probably bad luck rather than a fault with the wiper as the original struggles as well. The passenger one is fine.
