Would you purchase this vehicle

With decent service history ..but I suspect no auto box oil change no reason…a test drive checking the auto box fully then a full service inc box afterwards if the price is right…

To give an accurate appraisal you would need to state the asking price. It is high mileage but with a good full service history if the price was right, then it comes down to what you are willing to pay.

There are many on the Forum who are good with spanners themselves. For them a mileage like this wouldn’t put them off buying. If the car had a good service history. For those, like me, who have little mechanical knowledge and very limited skills in this area it would frighten me to death. If you are going to have to pay for repairs, remember cars like all mechanical things wear with use. My advice would be to have the car thoroughly checked before handing over good money.

My !personal! experience with N52B30 puts a red warning light ref mileage, especially if the car was driven to/at its limits (as I am used to drive mine almost all time). But, to the contrary, someone linked a N52B30 withstanding over 400.000 miles in good condition. Some guidance may be taken from overall average fuel consumption (if reliably available): My N5230 died from wear at 160.000 miles covered with overall average close to 15mpg, that linked N52B30 withstood 400.000miles while averaging 27mpg only!

Mileages like that don't seem unusual in the US so at the right price I wouldn't be put off.

There are a couple of UK owners of E86s with the same engine that have done over 200K miles but as B21 says I'd budget for fresh transmission fluid.
