Lightened/Single-Mass Flywheel and Clutch

Update!

Collecting the car tomorrow with a bit of luck - feedback from the garage is the pilot bearing supplied with the kit did not fit, it sat too proud so the gearbox wouldn't bold back on. An oe pilot bearing has been fitted and this works perfectly. I'll ensure this is fed back to Burkhart as this was supposed to be a direct fit kit.

Will report back after collection but I'm rather excited!

Picked it up yesterday! Overall absolutely chuffed with it.

Definitely not a mod for someone wanting a nice quiet drive - there's some clatter at idle (it's not nearly as bad as I expected), and definitely more 'driveline noise' below about 2krpm.

The way the revs pick up how is mad!

The clutch pedal is lighter than my old stock one, but I'd say that's also a function of my old pivot pin being nearly flattened, and things not being lovely new and all greased up which they are now!

I went for the organic plate not the paddle plate as I don't have higher than stock power and don't need the additional friction. It behaves precisely like a normal clutch - maybe ever so slightly more 'on/off' but it's still got some take up. It's a little more difficult to move off because the revs pick up so fast, but that will become easier with seat time.

One thing I am not entirely sure is right is the starter noise, I need to have a look into the teeth engagement. It's not clear if there's an issue or if it's just because it's now turning over a chunk less mass and it's single piece steel so it has resonance too, but it sounds a little like when you stand on a dog squeaker toy as it disengages which is funny but might get a little dull!

So yeha over the moon generally, minor teething issue to verify and/or resolve with the starter nut otherwise holy crap what a cool mod!

Sounds great 👍🏼

Probably not a mod for me but on a track focused car I’ll bet it’s a lot of fun.
