Hi All, Removed the poorly fitted aftermarket pioneer stereo, found a maze of wires, found the original loom , unplugged it all, found the Aux cable connected that , put back in the BMW business stereos (Have the BlueMusic coming) Issue is the steering wheel controls are a big no !!!, am i looking for a septate cable connector they might have unplugged to get the pioneer operational. As only had the car for 2 weeks loving it !!! BMW E86 2007

They operate on the k-bus. It's a single wire that needs to be connected to the radio. It should be part of the main loom thar connects to the radio. It'll be marked like the one below

However... The radio also uses the k-bus to 'authenicate' with the car (rather than needing a code), so if the radio turns on and doesn't display 'disabled', then the k-bus wiring to the radio itself is probably ok.

Do the steering wheel controls light up? Did they used to work with the aftermarket radio? If so, t's possible that someone rerouted the signal somehow into a k-bus decoder box or something.

Very hard to know without seeing it, but that k-bus wire is what you probably wanna start looking at first.

Is the steering wheel original to the car? It may not have the loom/connections

The Car ..what month /year of manufacture.??
Early cars had no wiring for MFSW.Can be added as only 2 wires to make it work.
