E86 Z4 - Master Window/Mirror Switch Fault

Good evening fellow members!

I’m trying to resolve a fault which I have with the drivers master window/mirror switch although after swapping the unit, I’m at a loss what the fault could be and hoping for some help.

For context, the windows work fine but I’m having an issue with the mirrors, before swapping the unit, I could only adjust the mirrors left (both sides) no other function worked.

I swapped out the unit for one I bought off someone in the Z4 group on FB and thought I’d miraculously fixed the issue, you can guess what’s coming next…

After swapping the unit, I can now adjust the mirrors left and up but can’t adjust them right or down am I just unlucky and have potentially bought a unit that perhaps has the same issue (but opposite) or, could it be a wiring fault/dodgy fuse.

Any ideas?

Either way, on a more positive note, I’ve had the suspension swapped out for Bilstein B4 and Eibach lowering springs and the car drives so much better albeit for a new knock at the rear left when corning at high speeds which I need to investigate.

Did you try opening the switch and cleaning it

I didn’t, if I’m honest I plugged in the new one and after I discovered the fault had swapped sides I gave up in frustration

Any in particular you’d recommend?

Any is good

Be careful when opening the switch up as they do send parts in all directions

Cotton bud/wd40 on the rubberised contact points

Had a look at it yesterday and I’ve managed to get the mirrors to adjust in all directions apart from left, so a small victory it seems. Cleaned the board and the buttons but still no luck.
