Nice to meet you all! In the market for an automatic E89 N52 (2.3 or 3.0, happy with either). Will be my second car after driving a 2016 Mazda 2 for 1.5 year. New job means I can work from home a lot and also have a fairly short commute (3 miles round trip), so looking for something a bit more fun and rewarding to look after.

Been looking around at various I6/V6 cars and narrowed it down to either the E89 or a 350/370Z, just because I grew up obsessed with those, but the E89's seem the better option with initial cost, road tax, insurance etc.

Welcome! Some good ones do come up north of the border, which is always too far away for me.. With that commute, you’ll probably only just be getting the car up to temperature by the time you get to work 😀

You’re looking at two quite different cars there. The E89 is much more of a fast GT/cruiser refined, comfortable and great for covering miles, whereas the 350Z/370Z is a bit more raw and sports car focused. If you want something a little more raw and mechanical, an E85/E86 might be worth considering too.

Thank you! I actually only just moved back up here, previously lived in Bristol for a few years which seemed to have better access to a bigger market in general. Most of the examples I have seen so far seem to be down that neck of the woods so looks like I'll be heading back down to see a couple :D

Yeah both are appealing to me, but considering it will be a daily driver the comfort and refined feel of the E89 is a bigger draw for me than the wildness of the 370 for now (on top of the financial draw lol). I was looking at E86's too but not many auto's on the market for those it seems anyway.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I've only owned E86s but by all accounts E89s are a bit more refined so may well work better as a daily driver. Good luck finding the right one.

Welcome along- I’m sure you will find a good Z soon, share any you are looking at and you will get great advice on them.
