Has anyone had their keys refurbished recently?
If so could you recommend someone to do the job?
I think mine both need new batteries as they remotely open the doors only very intermittently.
Many thanks!

You want someone to change the batteries in your keys?
I'll do it for £300 plus travel expenses.

No you aren't, you're just seeing what you might get away with. :poke:

I'm sure there are other Spaldingski residents who would be cheaper.

Presume you have tried the wireless charging pad / toothbrush charger hack? helped for me but didn't really sort it long term.

Used this guy for battery replacement in 4 of our keys, he is quick, cheap and had no issues since, range is much better, which was my only issue

Used this guy for GM5 relay replacement, again no issues and reasonable price. Problem I had was unreliable operation of passenger door lock.

Thanks for all the info guys.
Yes I tried the charging pad / tooth brush charger methods but made no difference as far as I could tell.
One key is pretty much dead and the other one works within about six inches of the headrest, after about ten tries, so I've resorted to manual locking for the moment, which isn't great as I guess the alarm is not set when the doors are locked manually.
I'll give the Ebay option a go with the dead one and get the other one done once that's sorted.
Thanks again guys!

I cut both mine apart, changed the battery and glued them back together. It's not too hard, so don't overpay for this. Less than 30m of work for my first time.

The problem I'm having is finding a glue that actually stays stuck together! I've tried two, and they both separate after a while

Edit - Ah, just saw Jon's link - £20 doesn't sound outlandish if you've not got the tools (knife and soldering iron)

Send them to The Master Locksmith in London. Perfect job and quite possibly cheaper than the Spalding Shark 😉
Ive also used these, very good service, used the mail service (got it delivered to a friends house so its not the same location as the car for safety).
