Swap N52b25 with N52b30

OK, I did the swap from 2.5 to 3.0.... I didn't do any remapping or update anything.
The engine works fine, no miss fire nothing upnormal. The power is better and the performance as well, but I feel the engine can deliver more.
Mine was with plastic black cover, and the engine I got with the silver Magnesium cover, I was so happy to keep the cover but the harness does not look nice so I kept the plastic cover and it was good chance to change the gasket...
Sounds like you’ve picked up an early N52. Nothing inherently wrong with this other than the fact that some of the components will be older than your car. Great to hear you’ve since had it mapped and setup correctly.
 
OK, this is the final thought of the swap...

First thanks to @Zedebee for recommending @ivanchen1211 , I don't think I could do it better and I was afraid of damaging the MSV80

First Ivan did the flash for me online, Then I went for a short trip and he checked again for any error and everything was perfect.

The car drives better, the power increased, very noticeable. From 212 HP to 260 HP is a 25% increment, you easily can feel it.

So only a swap without a flash won't give you all 3.0 L power.

This was clear to me once I did the swap and run the 3.0L N52, because before the swap, the engine used to rev to 900 RPM then to 600 RPM once warmed up. When I did the swap it barely reached 700 RPM then back to 600 RPM. After Ivan helped flashing the MSV80 with 30i, and started the engine, RPM jumped to 900 then to 600 after a minute or two, that's right...

The test drive went very well, and power is better but still you feel that little thing, after accelerating harsh and revving to 5000 or 6000 RPM then releasing the pedal, you feel the engine needs more air. Also feel this when driving over 100 km/h.... So there was a little more to do, Ivan told me you need to do one more thing... He told me this from the beginning but we agreed to do first the flash and then this...
 
OK, Ivan told me if I swap the intake manifold as well, and actually I kept mine once the filter fit the tbrottle body port...
He adviced me there is a big difference in the ports to the engine. This picture below shows the two intake manifold for 3.0L "up" and the 2.5L "down"... BIG Difference...

I measured the port size and there is around 32% increament....

I start the engine, you feel the engine is relaxed, derive and It delivers the power better and drives with no hesitation whatsoever...

Now I am engoying 25% increament in the power, Thanks to Ivan @ivanchen1211
 
So, in Summary...

Swap to 3.0L if you are going to replace or rebuild the 2.5L
Is it worth it? definitely... You will notice the power and feel it..
You must flash the DME otherwise you won't get the 3.0L full power...
Don't forget to swap the intake manifold as well, it is important... Natural Aspirated engines are sensible to port size
You can swap plastic to magnisuim but the harness will be messed over the engine...
You can use intake manifold with outside PCV "i.e. from magnesium cover" to in built PCV "i.e. plastic cover"
