carbon fibre side covers ?!?

They don't even look real carbon, the weave is all over the place on the top one of first pic and has a vertical lines in it.
The bottom one has a weird distortion in the weave.
I think its dipped and they are trying to pass if off as carbon that's not even worth the price of the eBay ad!

For something that could be easily detached, lost, etc CF seems silly. Plus the plastic oe ones weigh nothing.

I think they added the zero and it’s £234?
Perhaps CF parts for Ferrari would be this much but not an E85. Madness

General question about these side covers, because may have missed something - but you have to remove them when putting the roof back up right?

There’s something to be said about the spontaneous nature of ‘going topless’ at a whim with the z’s fast fully-auto roof, and of course UK weather dictates you may need to whip it back up sharpish too.

Yep have to be removed or they pop off and brake the turn clips holding them down.

So the dilemma is.....
A set of plastic CF wrapped side covers from Poland, or a complete decent early 2.5 E85 (maybe with OE side covers attached).
Tricky one.

I asked them if the price was a mistake. It isn’t!😆

True, sometimes you get lucky.

£2k for side covers doesn't make sense when you can buy a whole car for that price😊

Do you think these covers could be made out of a high density black foam - similar to seat padding or furniture grade? Could then be pushed / compressed in place and it’s expansion keeps it in the gap!

Foam might fit, but I would worry about UV/heat, water absorption and whether it would stay secure at speed.

I am based in Shenzhen and can explore a simple satin-black pair made from a heat- and UV-resistant engineering polymer — no carbon wrap.

The target price would be £149 per pair plus actual shipping, subject to proper design licensing and successful fitment testing. I am not taking orders or money yet.

If at least five E85 owners here would genuinely buy at that target price, I will fund the first prototype and post close-up photos and a fitment video.

Would anyone here be interested? Would you prefer an OEM-style texture or smooth satin black?

I would be interested in OEM style finish (textured same style as Z4 interior) or fabric coated to match the fabric of the roof. I would only want to purchase through an established online site/vendor though.

Water absorption - shouldn't be a problem as you won't have them fitted if its wet weather as the roof will be up
