Yes and that green plug should have a black locking clip on the back of it, if it doesn’t have that then it won’t connect properly.

I'm not seeing any black clip inside unless it was on the connector and has just snapped and fell off with out me realizing.

As I said, the clip should be on the BACK of the plug. To remove the plug you first have to prise the clip up.
Sounds like maybe yours never had it? Which would also explain the resistance codes.

Do you mean this clip?
If so you have to make sure that black piece is intact to form a good connection to the door airbag

Good idea. Sounds like time for someone with previous experience to take a look and I know @colb has dealt with the missing clip issue before.
