What have you done to your E89 today

Yes it’s a strake in the terms of an aerodynamic device…although in this case like many on cars ..G29 anyone…it’s a faux strake ..that IMHO is enough to destine it to the rubbish bin..

One of the ‘value added’ marketing gimmicks to differentiate the 35is from its almost identical sister 35i..

I always thought the grilles on the 35i were identical to the 35is i.e. alu matt and all other E89's had the ones with the chrome surround and black middles. Save the highline edition cars which had black on black.

No 35is strakes are unique ..the other strakes are set at a different height..

Found some sun shades on aliexpress so thought i'd see how bad they could be for £35. I can happily say they are ok, very lightweight, the fit isn't perfect but not bad. Fitting the rear screen could be fun, i might just attach to the roll over hoops

Car went in for it's annual service today and in addition to the usual oil & filter and cabin filter it had both rear adaptive shocks replaced (to address an MOT advisory) and a new front pad sensor (this had not been replaced when the pads had recently been changed). Also a new sump plug becuase the original was slightly rounded.

No more warning indicator for the front pads 👍

How much did you pay for the adaptive shocks…/ BMW or alternative ?

The fronts had been done by the previous owner after an MOT fail in 2023 and cost £620 shipped from Aerosus and £210 to fit.

Fortunately the invoice was in the service history so I ordered the rears from the same supplier at a cost £426 delivered and my mechanic who did the annual service fitted them 👍
