Hi everyone. I’m currently on the look for a bmw Z4 E85 roadster 3l manual. I’ve always liked the distinct shape of them. I’ve recently sold an Alfa Spider TS but now want the itch of rear wheel
Drive. Also own Fiat Coupe 20VT which is my current daily. And tucked away in the garage and sorned is my cherished Alfa 156 GTA.

Never owned a bmw so any tips and recommendations to look out when buying an E85 straight six. Couple of pics of my sold spider, Fiat and alfa.

Cheers, James

Hi and welcome to the forum James.

I love your other cars too, and running a Fiat coupe as a daily I don't think your wallet needs to be too frightened by the prospect of a 3 litre Z4!

The engines are pretty bulletproof, but at the age they are now it's ancillaries like starters, alternators, etc. that can fail, suspension can be getting tired and rear brake pipes often corrode. Just make sure the roof operates properly and if it hasn't been relocated to the boot budget a couple of hundred quid to get it relocated while it still works. There are a few people on here who specialise in doing that, the nearest one to you being in Hook, Hants. Or you can do it yourself if you are a contortionist.

Heated seats were an option and most Roadster owners look for them to extend the top-down season, anyway good luck finding the right one.
