One Series Hall Sensor

Hi everyone, after a little help please. I have the fault A696 Hall Sensor etc etc. I have bought a one series one as advised on another thread. The wires are a different colour though. Does it matter which colours are joined together? Or will it work both ways?

if there’s a brown wire on both then connect those and then the the other two wires together, although I’m pretty sure it doesn’t make any difference which colour goes together. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

Brown is the negative. So if brown wire go brown to brown.
Seems all Hall sensors might have brown wire.
2 in front of me now on a cyl. from a Nissan are brown, from a breakers, was £15..
Seems lots of convertible cars use them, industry standard..

If it's the one on the boot ram with the short wire, just make sure it's not just the plug come loose.
Happened on my car roof stop with roof in boot, boot open A696 fault code.
I just pushed it hard in and glued, as the plug was missing locking barb.
Only problem with Hall seems they split due corrosion, but one i played with still worked with cracks.

You could pick up the Mini Hall sensors for £15 not so long ago.
If folks struggle to get cheap, try breakers with Audi, Nissan or Ferrari.
