IAM Masters Course..harder than you think…

Just to be clear Peter, I wasn't having a pop at you. I re-read my post and can see it could be construed that way. I am just not a fan of 'training' but can appreciate this is not the normal type.

Good on you for doing all this. I am 12 years younger than you and I couldn't do it (anymore).
Noted thnx

I’m not a fan of training for training sake…somethings you can learn purely from books/videos etc …somethings have to have some exposure in the physical / real world…

Improving your driving skills requires ideally both desk and car environments..

Completed the sixth and final of the tutor / training sessions for my IAM Masters driving course..

Had a small shock when I realised the scoring algorithm is not the same as the 'normal' advanced driving course..

In that if you score 2 or lower across all 28 sections you pass..if you score all 1 bar 3 or lower at 2 you get a 'F1rst'.

On the masters you need to score a number of 1 in addition to a few 2 or you don't pass at all.

Again if you score all 1 bar 3 or better you get a 'distinction'

So to summarise

Max fail marks possible is 81, best score possible is 27, minimum pass is 39, Distinction is 30 or less!

Pay attention!

My scores on my 6 sessions

73, 66, 56, 55.5, 34, 31

Now signed off for my test..will practice in the meantime!IAM masters run 5.JPGIAM masters run 6.JPG

Your consideration noted…however my details are widely known already..

The potential for a malignant actor getting a strict tutorial on advanced driving should be a powerful deterrent ..

Congratulations Peter. 🍺

I'm looking forward to seeing a Master in action later this year! (y)

You have to talk about what's happening ahead like the police do?

Edit. Congratulations👏
The police pursuit standard (highest police driving standard) requires only 20 minutes of commentary during the test…Masters expects continuous commentary from start to finish..over 90 minutes..

My examiner offered me the option after 45 minutes of discontinuing…

I declined mainly because I though I might f£€k up if I didn’t keep focussed..

My test lasted over 2 hrs due to traffic / trains / roadworks

Pity we unlike the police aren’t allowed to exceed the speed limits.

Of the three points I dropped 2 were for not being aggressive enough on overtakes…

Thank you for you congratulations!..appreciated ..
