Now my bank, who I have been with for forty years, are asking for all sorts of private information pertaining to my business.
I had to fill in a "updating your information" form the other day. Some of the questions were none of their business so I told them so on the form.
Now I am getting threats of closing my account if I don't give them the info they want. Cheeky feckers!
They say it's fraud prevention, but it isn't. It's more data gathering, which presumably they are passing on to our fantastic Government so they can find ways to tax me more.
I shall be having words with the bank on Monday.

What exactly do you mean? All income, including bonuses, bonuses paid in shares, long term incentive schemes paid in shares etc., are taxed at the employees highest rate. The amount that can be sheltered in ISAs and pension schemes is now strictly limited. This applies to all working people in the UK up to CEOs of FTSE100 companies.
That is being reduced from £20k to £12k next year by our new Government too. They really don't like people who are trying to do well for themselves; only those who contribute nothing. Bizarre attitude IMO.
Done deliberately. They want us raging. Makes legislation easier.
I can't recall a government that wasn't. Unless you're a donor or you have Kompromat, they aren't interested in you, or your plights
Because we now have online Tax accounting you really do need a technically qualified accounts staff to organize your accounts system, yes it does cost ,but if you get it wrong it will cost you a lot more. If you have 12 employees plus VAT there is a lot of work.
