Northern Iberia June 2026.. all slots taken

Genuinely didn’t know if it was acceptable or not. Perhaps take them in case you get in trouble with Spanish plod? 😬
On the last 3 trips on this route I’ve seen many many cars without any form of ‘UK’ placarding…At most spot checks / road blocks you’re facing forward ..so they won’t see the sticker till after they’ve waved you through..

GB maybe required. A 2nd one like Uk might a problem.

A very very nice weekend halt for the Bondar Heavy Industries 2026 Tour…

This converted farm has used a massive barn to be re used as very nice upmarket rooms…

Of course perfect weather with a light breeze helps.

Our Saturday trip across from France to here in Spain highlighted the difference between the French side and the Spanish….

Lots of congestion, aggressive driving and heavy speed enforcement on the French side now means it’s no longer on my go to list..

In contrast the Spanish side is so much better..

Glad we’re in Iberia for the remainder of the trip..IMG_2005.jpegIMG_4170.pngIMG_2015.jpegc659ff28-4bb9-47d3-a1b4-f8da24fec7ed.jpegIMG_2011.jpegIMG_2040.jpegIMG_2035.jpegIMG_2012.jpeg

Interesting - currently the opposite of our trip to and over the Route de Grandes Alpes in CH and East-France down to the mediterranien see:

Looking great folks.
Ive just got back from 3 weeks in and around the Picos.
We drove around a lot of the unknown roads and found some real gems of places...Dead end roads with stunning gorges, and small intimate towns at the end...[ The road to Cain springs to mind]...
What a fabulous area. The roads are to die for, and the driving is easy , and quiet. Riano is a fab place to drive around too, the lake area is megger...
If you get the chance ,, stay at the Parador de Corias at Cangas del Narcia, fabulous old converted monastery. One of the nicest hotels Ive stopped in for along time...We had 3 nights there [not all together]....

Hope the weather is with you.. Enjoy the trip....

As Einstein said..it’s relative…if you’ve never experienced the joy of driving for dozens of miles at 80-85 mph with no traffic no police etc etc

Another day..moving from Leilha high in the Pyrenees following the N260 (the NC500 of the Spanish Pyrenees)..for most of the way then cutting across to a hostal on the Camino Santiago (Pilgrims 500 mile walk)…just fabulous roads, fabulous pace ..living the dream..e5afb7c0-a94f-43ad-883c-94c92a9827bd.jpegIMG_2057.jpegIMG_2058.jpegIMG_2056.jpeg
