I dont have the AFE, I was tempted with it many times but couldn't gel with the looks of the airbox, the angles don't work for my eyes.
A completely ridiculous requirement for an intake under the hood to look good but it was enough of a turn off for me.
Surprising you still want more sound after the foam removal. I found it far too boomy when on full or part throttle.!
I went for the BDS system comprising of the ITG cylinder airbox, ITG foam cone filter and BDS intake elbow which removes the sound generator.
Noise is good but nothing huge. A little more barky at the top end..
I've recently removed the cylinder so now run just the exposed foam filter, sounds a bit more raspy, especially after 4k rpm.
The CentroPlenum should be with me in a few weeks, it's been a long wait. They've had to redesign the MAF pipe for the Z4 platform which has delayed things.
Still no dyno graphs so I assume the other customers are still a little nervous, like myself..
