2006 BMW Z4 3.0Si SE Roadster
6-speed manual | N52 3.0 straight-six | 86,800 miles

A very well sorted and increasingly hard-to-find E85 Z4 3.0Si manual in arguably one of the best colour combinations: Monaco Blue metallic with beige leather interior.

This is the later facelift 3.0Si with the superb N52 engine — smoother, freer revving and more responsive than the earlier M54 cars. The car has been enthusiast owned and carefully maintained with the intention of keeping it long-term and gradually improving it, rather than simply running it cheaply.

The plan had genuinely been to keep the car for several more years, but after unexpectedly receiving marital approval to pursue a rare Porsche 981 S specification I’ve been searching for, plans have changed.

The car remains OEM+ and has never been modified in a way that compromises the character or integrity of the platform.

Specification & Features

  • 3.0Si SE Roadster
  • 6-speed manual gearbox
  • Monaco Blue metallic
  • Beige leather interior
  • Heated electric seats
  • Sport button
  • Factory 17” BMW Style 200 alloys
  • Matching Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres fitted all round within the last ~2,000 miles

The car has benefitted from extensive preventative maintenance and drives exceptionally well with tight steering, strong brakes and a superb engine.

Recent / notable work includes:

  • Hood motor replaced and relocated (2018)
  • Full copper brake pipe replacement front to rear (2025)
  • Front suspension refreshed with Sachs shocks and springs (2021)
  • Rear shocks and springs replaced recently (2025)
  • Front control arms and bushes replaced (2026)
  • Inspection II service completed around 84k miles (2025)
  • Differential output seals replaced (2026)
  • Regular servicing regardless of mileage at specialists (RBM/EMTEC in my time)

The car pulls strongly, idles smoothly and feels extremely tight and well sorted.

Fitted with a Supersprint Powerloop cat back exhaust.

The result is a deeper, more exotic straight-six tone without unpleasant motorway drone — adding genuine character while remaining refined on longer journeys.

I deliberately retained the factory 17” Style 200 wheels as they preserve the ride quality better than many aftermarket 18” setups. Combined with the recently fitted matching Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres, the car feels balanced and communicative.

Good late manual 3.0Si cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find in genuinely maintained, enthusiast-owned condition.

The car presents very well for its age and mileage and is clearly enthusiast cared-for. Interior remains a lovely place to be with minimal wear. Bodywork is very good overall with only age-related marks consistent with a properly used and enjoyed modern classic.

Summary

A rare opportunity to buy a properly maintained, mechanically sorted and subtly enhanced manual 3.0Si. These later N52 E85s are increasingly in demand, and good examples are becoming much harder to replace.

Happy to discuss the car. More photos, and walkaround videos available on request. Currently away for the BH, so more photos to follow.

I’ve reduced the price on AT to £7.495 ono.

I’ve been away, which is never ideal when selling a car, but will document receipts and work in more detail here over the weekend.

Thanks @RMB. I’m noticing a few familiar names from here on the Boxa forum!

Tbf, and without wishing to talk myself out of a sale, I am not sure the car is extended leather - as I don’t know whether the dash top should be leather as well (it’s not)?

The door cards are completely beige Leather, if that helps clarify.

That and leather A-Pillars 👌
Although the original spec sheet would suggest not. Who cares, still a lovely looking car 👍🏻

Hmm interesting. As street said. Not the whole top of the dash but around the surround and visors in leather. Plus doors fully leather.
Add some more pics maybe. What’s the vin?

I can’t get back home for more pictures until Friday but here are some of the more significant receipts to show significant and preventative work done.
