I just had my car renewal through from CK for a very good price of about £250, but then I phoned to have the no claims discount from
my M240 applied to the policy and to remind them that I had now sold my M240.

They said that I could no longer have a classic policy as I only have 1 car now, and needed a normal policy with the modifications.

So the end result is the price is nearly doubled. Highway Allianz. I haven’t got my guaranteed value anymore. Plus a larger excess! So I’m paying a lot more for less cover.

Can anyone please suggest other companies that I can try? That would be modification friendly have a good price and Maybe guaranteed value.

Admiral if you don't want guaranteed valuation, by far been the cheapest for me the last 8 years or so. Had all the mods below declared with them no issue and didn't really increase the price. The issue being of course in the event of a claim I'd stand to lose a lot of money as high mileage and book price would be nowhere near what I've spent.

I've just moved over to a classic / modified policy as I wanted guaranteed valuation going forward. All stipulated a second car and garage as a necessity so you might be out of luck. I went with Adrian Flux in the end.
I can't remember if Howden's demanded a second car tbf, don't think they did, but their quote was from Marker Study who I didn't want to go with but could give them a try.

Cheers Andy, yeah I’ve just come off the phone to Howdens (I thought they did kitchens😁) after meds recommended them to me offline. Awaiting a callback. Such a tedious task this.
 
I recommend Howden’s highly

Following others advice I have all my cars with them

I've been alternating between Adrian Flux and Chris Knott with my modified MC but last year Howdens offered a better quote with AXA so I went with them and this week I renewed with them as the price was exactly the same as last year! :)

Make sure you contact their Thatcham branch as they have schemes for modified cars - number is 01635 879910.

(My other car is with Saga.)

I have always used A-Plan now known as Howden for my kit cars and now my Z with them, It wasn't so much how much it was what it covered in the small print.
They specialise in modified kit cars and many more. They go through it all line by line with. I spoke to a guy call Adam Wheeler very help and knowledgeable.
Its just another call you could make.

Well I’m not doing well at all so far. Trying flux next. Such a tedious job.
