New Record For Side Covers?

Once I've fitted my 313 wheels and Sypder headlights i will move on to doing this.

It's 2020 so I have found lots of ways to use the latest tech on my Z4, my favorite is adding an iPad pro on the dash to give it the Tesla look.

Looking forward to seeing the side covers, keep us posted

I got a set with my car literally never used them.

Cant see what the fuss is about, complete pain to add and remove.

Got to agree. Lets be honest if they didn't exist who would even notice.

They do make a not untidy looking car look a bit neater but what a faff to keep taking on and off.

I've got a CR-10 3d printer but wouldn't be able to replicate these as they're about 560mm long, my max is 300x300x400. The size puts it out of reach of most consumer printers even if you can find an .stl file. If it was done in two pieces with a join where the folded roof line ends it could be easily done, so if anyone who is CAD savvy wants to play with it...?

I use mine all the time through the summer. Just depends what you’re doing - if it’s a long planned drive or a hoon they work fine, reduce wind noise, stop the roof moving up and down so much. Short journeys where you’re putting the roof up and down a lot, I don’t use them. Spending 20secs to take them out when you stop or put them in before you leave is such a first world problem to complain about. And the gaptech is not redundant, once you’ve taken them out you can close the roof and lock the car using the key as normal...

All of that said, I paid £60 for mine I think, back in 2014 - I would not be spending £200 on them now, I don’t like them that much

They cost more now 😂

I just paid silly money for genuine BMW ones, so that I can reproduce a set in carbon fibre for myself.
