Thread 'Gruppe Air Intake'

Hi all, I’ve decided to sell my Gruppe intake as it’s just sitting in the garage collecting dust.
The bad points…
- Some deterioration to the rubber edging around the bottom of the CF cone (see image)
- There appears to be a small dent on the connecting ring that holds the air filter and CF intake (see image - this does not affect the mechanism in anyway.
I’m looking for £400 + postage

Selling for £400 plus postage

Will come without MAF but all fixings present. Not that the imperfections with the rubber surround remain but they aren’t visible when fitted and performance isn’t affected

I know sold, but very interested to see how these compare to full csl style carbon airbox sound wise.
Assume no re-mapping needed for these.

Would be appreciate thoughts on this 👍🏻

I’ve not experienced a csl-style airbox, but I had a cheap aFe airbox for years and then a GruppeM more recently. The aFe really accentuated the S54 intake rasp and complemented my Remus back boxes. The GruppeM is much quieter and closer to the OEM sound - the exhaust is now louder than the intake. The aFe had an angry bark, the GruppeM is subdued. I’ve fitted a sound generator (as per non-///Ms) so it’s a little louder in the cabin now, but it’s a poor substitute for the much cheaper alternative.
I replaced the aFe only because the power coated metal heat shield was starting to rust (after perhaps 15 years). I expected more from the GruppeM because I have one fitted to my RS4 and it sounds like thunder.
The GruppeM looks great under the bonnet, but I would buy another aFe intake if I was in the same position again.
