New eventuri carbon airbox with maf

maybe it was the supplier issue?
Could be a number of things. Material change, new staff, Friday afternoon builds…Whatever the reason, it’s certainly a black mark against them and if I was doing it all again today then it might very well be enough to put me off that airbox.

However, if you want a full airbox with MAF compatibility then I think it’s your only choice. I would hope/imagine that evolve/eventuri learnt and improved from those incidents as having to frequently pay out to rebuild S54s would get pretty expensive pretty quickly.

It was terrible.
I heard they tried to do an alpha-n map for the z4M, but users couldn't heal and toe because the map wouldn't allow throttle and brake application together:rofl:jokers

Who is this guy from eventuri you are talking about? As far as I was aware eventuri was just spun off the evolve name to sell those cone filters with carbon around them? The first picture above was from ~2020, so long after eventuri was created.
I think to be fair, the issue with the alpha-n map is a very old and was resolved by them a long time ago. I've had a carbon airbox and map since 2017 and it has been flawless.

I can't speak of that detached trumpet issue within the airbox - but it might have been a one-off for all I know - but I have not heard of any issues with the Evolve airbox or map recently. If they have developed a solution that retains the MAF then kudos to them I say.

It was after eventuri started. Below is the story. It was not spun out of evolve to sell cone filters but was a joint venture.

The guy behind it is an aeronautical engineer with a PhD in fluid dynamics. At least on the s54 the intake makes power. Independently proven. Can't speak for any other engine or design.

Yes, both referenced then were long after he was involved. I'm not sure that reflects on the situation given the failure method and it not being an eventuri product.
Anyway, look, I'm not here to piss on anyone's chips, least of all Beanie. I didn't think anyone on here had one of theirs, so for that I apologise. But I was asked why I wouldn't order from them and I explained my reasons both from personal experience and anecdotal. How many failures like that have there been, or how many they supplied in total, I have no idea. For me, two failures like that are two too many, the consequences are severe. Perhaps it's telling they no longer sell their own one, but rather Karbonius'.
I'm also not here to cast any aspersions on eventuri products, I know many are very happy with them including a good friend.
I would say it is quite unusual for someone with a phd to have no digital footprint of that whatsoever;)

No apologies necessary Tom, the tuning industry is rife with cowboys so it’s only right that people are aware of the good and bad in the aftermarket.

Interesting, I didn’t know that! 🤔
