This is really poor.
On the babybmw forum sellers have to post pictures of the item with a piece of paper showing the date and their user name. That would help but still not foolproof.
Buyer beware I guess.
But I have even bought something from an established seller on here and it didn’t work, and he never replied to my PMs. Mods didn’t do much tbh either.
Had many other safe purchases though from several other established members. Plus really good after sales install help too.

Problem is with Ai apps now it's pretty easy to take a stock image and add those details unfortunately. Doesn't mean anything this day and age.

If I replace mine I'll sell it to the buyer here for a good price, I'm hoping start a new project soon so may be surplus.

Sorry to the buyer who got scammed that sucks buddy.

My golden rule is I never use friends and family unless I feel I have built up a relationship with someone and they have gained my trust or their reputation is clearly worth more to them than a quick few quid.

The majority of the forum are great people who genuinely share your passion for the marque. Unfortunately there is always that one .
