How long before your car is dearer to run with the current rate of tax?

That made me laugh out loud!
Am I really that bad? If so, sod it, I don't care.

To be fair you keep it almost entirely on that thread. It only very slightly oozes out into other posts like a handful of squeezed tomato dripping onto everyone else's corn flakes.

😁

I love my Fauxrrari (even though the wheels keep coming loose which is not great).

There you go, you've achieved a full and convincing replica... I believe knock on wheels were forever coming loose and people in the 60s were more than glad to ditch them for real wheels with more than one bolt 😱

(I think it's great, keep up the good work!)

You won't get one of those in an EV. I think they start at around 3 tonnes. Batteries and motors are heavy. ;)
Renault 5 TurboE EV is 1450kg and 555bhp.

Tech is moving quick.

(I do want the link to your Z3 thread, DM me if you like. Genuinely love it)

That, Sir, is called 'how to make money' by the UK Government.
Thousands of vehicles in the UK will have to pay VED twice. If you sell a car on the 2nd of the month, you lose that month's VED refund so you are paying until the end of that month. But the tax is cancelled. Then the buyer taxes it on the 2nd and pays on top of the tax the seller has already paid. Fantastic business model.
The UK Government are not stupid when it comes to grabbing money. Shame they then just waste it.

The only way I can find to (legally) not pay twice is to sell a car at 23.59 on the last day of the month. And buy a car one minute later.
Taxation is about the destruction of money, not making it. Government can easily create money whenever it wishes. They do not operate like business or household finances.

I've just donated a month's VED because I wanted to drive on Wednesday instead of waiting for today. It was worth it!
