Ok, so after browsing ebay and a sanity check with google gemini, I have solved one of my engine bay gripes with the e89. unfinished looking strut towers.

Pointless? Yes.

But this is an excuse to add two extra M badges where it matters... by the engine. It must add at least 20bhp per side.

They are mount covers from an E46, and they do clean up the look.

OEM parts.

They need tapping down with a plastic hammer. They fit perfectly, as Gemini said they would!

No guarantees of course, but if they havent changed the proportions from e46-e89 you could reasonably assume they would fit e85. It’s not something which is often updated.

Just check if there are just the three bolts and no awkward other bits sticking up. If not, should be good to go.

It’s a relatively cheap risk, and you can always resell to an e89 owner now! Haha

When I first read that I'm think "there's your problem straight away!"

Do not, and I mean "DO NOT!!!!" ever take any notice of what an AI says, always check you findings with real research.
Example, I've just been having a conversation with CoPilot this week, I initially asked it to give me a definitive list of all options for the E89 (I was on my phone and couldn't be arsed to go look properly), and it listed something I didn't recognise which was VO code 6WA "Instrument cluster with extended contents". So I asked it to expand upon this option, and it went into great detail to explain to me that you could retrofit the F-Series part digital dash cluster into the E89. It gave me the full breakdown on how to fit and code it and even though I questioned it, it was adamant that it was a popular install with the E89. But once I asked it for a direct link to a retrofit thread/post it then stated that there wasn't any. It then went on to say that "in theory" it could be done, but kept insisting that it could give me all the details! I could go into the utter bull this AI was telling me, but I wont as it was very long-winded and farcical.
AI can be a good tool, but it's not always accurate enough to rely upon, in the case of these suspension tops it was right, but in most cases I've come across it's been sloppy at best and downright totally wrong in the most part! Every man and his dog are rushing out AI tools and they are basically crap!

BTW, those toppers do look neat though :thumbsup:
