Today, this morning, I went out in the Dark Knight to the Midlands Z4 Owners Monthly meet. Out 1st on a Saturday and although still small on numbers we didn't lack quality.
Tim was there in his Z4M, we even had a pair of Phoenix Yellow Z4s, one with a cream interior which, unless we can be proven wrong is the only one that was specced like this.

Once home, I changed the weather strip around the windscreen and replaced the rotting scuttle panel with one I had in stock.

Looks far better now.

Had a look at coding the vin to the SBSL but got totally lost. It's still outside of my depth and comfort zone.

Yeah it's a shame... It's an original Dutch delivered manual in Ruby Black with Amarone interior. I think that a total of 6 have been made in this configuration (3.0 si, roadster, manual). Funilly enough there's an exact copy for sale in NL, however outside of my budget:

Mounted temu alu pedal copy. At least for me, looks like factory. Did not want the race ones, as in my opinion they don't suit the car.
I have yet to check if alu foot rest copy exists and order it if it fits.

Installed this stitch on Steering wheel cover that I got off AliExpress. Considering it cost only £4.29, I was surprised by how quickly it arrived & the overall quality. Took about 1.5hrs to install with the steering wheel still in place. Won’t be a long term solution, but will do the trick while I decide what to regarding a re-trim

Stripping the last parts off a car prior to the scrap man next week.

I was determined that I'd extract the whole loom complete with 2 plugs and the pins at the end of all 4 wires for the passenger airbag switch and light.

The 3 long wires went to separate plugs on the central airbag module (LCI) and the short wire went to the fuse board behind the glove box.

No. I didn't make any note of the plug names or the pin holes.

Fitted these gaiters from Amazon to replace the original gear/handbrake gaiters that had seen better days. Good quality items. You need to use contact adhesive to secure to the original plastic frames and heat up the leather to give it more stretch. Getting the right tension across the arm pad was tricky - easiest to secure the inner edges first, let that bond then the rear end then the sides, points and finally the neck.

Then fitted a storm motorwerks V1 - feels great.

Fitted tri-colour head rests and belt pads. Seatbelts were cutting into my neck driving me mad - pads have worked a treat. Not sure on neck pads yet ….

Fitted a new drivers door window regulator today. I parked the car last Friday evening in the car park, whilst attending a works black tie charity event (I was working the next day so not on the booze). Pressed the button and it stopped 4 inches short
Gorilla taped the opening up, to stop water getting in during the week waiting for parts, replaced the regulator today.

TOP TIP: When re installing the window, before you bolt all the fiddly plastic and metal plates together loosely (at the end of the door furthest from the hinge) unclip the white plastic guide from the other end. Bolt the far end together, reconnect the battery/airbag etc and check it all works. Then simply slide the plastic wedge into the metal track (with the little red tabs) and simply push it onto the metal bracket.

Don't spend ages sending the window up-down-up-down-up-down trying to find the perfect angle

And yes, I have butchered the foam door liner in frustration

Hydro Pre wash
Hydro Snow foam + rinse
Autoglym Magma iron removal + rinse
Soft 99 Fusso high gloss wax and polish
Britemax metal polish exhaust tips
Britemax rubber tyre dressing & various othe black plastic trim (door mirror plates etc)
Wash engine bay and cleaned inner door cills and boot jams too
