Z4 parkrunners

Today it’s +6 outside so on the warmer side for this time of year but it’s only going to get worse until end of March…

I ran and for years, 5 miles nearly every night after work and a longer run at the weekend. Even my barber called me Forrest as I was always seen running about. I found it good to get my head straight after a difficult day at work (and other things) and keep me fit. Had to give up 8 years ago as both my knees are now shot (osteoarthritis in one and did the cruciate ligament in the other), paying the price now as the weight goes on.

Two bits of advice that always stuck in my head, buy running shoes 1/2 size bigger than your normal size and look at your feet when running up a hill 👟

Have not yet made my way to a parkrun but I do have my first 10km race next weekend. Goal is to make it to the finish line 👍🏻
I started running couple of weeks after reading about parkruns in this topic so that’s a positive turn of events.

Starting later in life has probably saved my knees. My son is a distance (marathon/ultra) and is already suffering.

Did you celebrate you PB anniversary today?

Crikey a year already!!!

No I was under a car- but nothing new there!!

Enjoyed yesterday I went to Irchester Country park in Northampton

A little hilly… but only 4 left to do on the alphabet challenge

I ran for years (5/6 days a week) and now my knees are kaput! Starting another diet now to get the weight back off, its a constant battle

I live to close to the moors to have ever considered a park run. Now a drive park up and jog up a mountain. That I would do, if I still could. ;)

Almost at 350 park runs now , done about another 10% volunteering and donated I dread to think how much money, but for quite a lot of people its not about the running or walking 5k, for some it might be the only chance they get to mix with people on common ground. I've run all over this country mostly solo , peak district , wolds, Scottish highland, coastal paths, most major cities, most of the islands, but there something about a park run.

Shame all yours in Sheffield are hilly!!! Did you try the new one?

I run a lot, mainly with my Athletics Club. I rairly do Park Runs Though as its not worth the 34 mile round trip and the two hours it takes, so will just do 5K from home.

When away though I will see if there is a local one. I'm in LA later in the year and plan do do one there which typically only has 30-40 people run it each week.
