Hello, recently I have purchased an e85 z4 2.0 convertible for dirt dirt cheap from a friend. Whilst working away on it to get it back to running the best I can I have encountered a few issues -
Firstly, due to its sitting outside for roughly 1.5 years, the discs were very rusty. Luckily - I work in a machine shop and managed to skim them making them look brand new. Fitted new pads to go along with this.
I have now been working on eliminating the lights on the dash. After some quick searching regarding the lights (picture below) I had come to the conclusion that it could be the wheel speed sensor/ABS sensor. I have replaced both front sensors and the lights are still there. (I was particularly trying to get rid of the warning triangle with the arrow going around it, again, pictured below). Went back to thinking and scanned the car for codes and it had come up with 'steering-angle sensor: plausibility'. Unsure how to go about fixing this one? The steering wheel sits about 11 o'clock and pulls to the left. Could this be just an alignment/bad track rod ends or something to do with the sensor?
As the for the other lights in the pictures, I have new headlight bulbs already as it seemed when I gave it a quick test run around the yard they fluctuate on and off. Unfortunately, living in Scotland means we get lots of rain so need to find a dry day to get these fitted!
Along with servicing and replacing rocker cover gasket (was leaking and the front lower corner), new spark plugs and flushing the brake fluid, this thing should be some fun!
Any help with getting these headaches sorted would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lewis
