Parking brake warning light and ABS

Looking for any help if possible.
I bought the car in December 2025 and the ABS light was amber at the time, the chap selling it on behalf of someone else said this light was on and there was an ABS part in the boot however was unsure what the problem was. The parking brake warning light was also showing red which I believe is likely due to the ABS not working properly.
At the time I bought it the speedometer worked after a few miles however this does not now register any longer and the mileage is also not moving.

I took it to the garage who diagnosed that ABS needed repaired and could be sent away to get repaired externally however I asked for replacement part to be fitted in hope this would fix the problem. However despite their efforts this has still not solved the issue.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or recommend a garage in Fife/Edinburgh area who may be able to have a look at this and resolve the issue.

Any help appreciated.

Does the parking brake warning light stay red, or does it change to amber or go off when you release the handbrake?

Speedo and mileage are both based on the left rear wheel speed sensor.

Chances are that it's either:
- a wheel speed sensor at fault
- a control module failure
- a wiring fault.

A fault code reader with live data will tell you what each wheel's speed is reporting as, but hopefully it's as simple as an ABS sensor.

I'll maybe try and get the codes diagnosed again, did this before however was unable to clear them all

It’s likely you have a specific brake problem as well as another problem. In the classic 3-light or 4-light scenario, the brake light is usually amber. Probably the pads are worn below minimum.

Definitely worth getting the codes read and post them on here for further advice.

2dd7 is the one that concerns me

I’ll have a Google but I think that needs a new ABS DSC unit

I did get an ABS pump unit fitted and also have the old one which I got back from the garage, however this did not seem to fix the issue. The garage had warned me that although they could fit the part that was sitting in the boot, they may not be able to clear the error. I think I will take it to an independent BMW specialist and see if they can diagnose the issue and likely cost of repair and take it from there.
