This is a rather odd advert as it’s a future sale (15th April 2026) but putting the feelers out there for any potential interested buyers.

Someone I know will be selling their Z4M on the above date which I am looking to purchase. I won’t have the space (or money) to keep the Z4 hence will be selling.

It’s a 2004 3.0 Z4 with the M54 engine. As you can see from my past posts, the car was in a bit of a state body wise but mechanically very good. I have replaced most of the body panels with colour matched panels so now it looks pretty much fine.

The car has no leaks and doesn’t smoke. I have recently done a big brake conversion using the callipers from a BMW 330i and installed drilled and grooved discs with new pads. I have also installed Hel braided hoses al round. The rear discs and pads are the standard size but with new drilled and grooves discs and new pads. New handbrake shoes have also been installed. Brake fluid has been flushed and replaced.

It’s had a recent oil, oil filter and air filter change. I will be changing the coolant next week so that will be fresh.

The mileage is around 110k and the engine and gearbox feel pretty strong.

It has a full black leather interior including the A pillar trims. The seats are heated electric m sport seats with next to no wear and no tears. It has been lowered all round and sits on MV1 alloys. It has rear adjustable camber arms at the back.I will be replacing some or all of the tyres before sale as some look a bit old and cracked.

The clutch delay valve has been deleted and the sound generator foam has been removed. I have spacers on order so will have 20mm at the back and 12mm at the front with the longer bolts.

The front release latch for the roof does not work hence the roof doesn’t operate but the motor has been relocated to the boot. I did buy a hard top from a fellow forum member and will probably sell with the car.

I bought the car with the intention of using as a ‘track car’ in the summer but I think the Z4M will offer more in this respect.

It has 12months mot but no service history apart from all the work I have done which I have invoices for.

I have to put a price, not too sure but thinking £4850? With the time and effort I have put in plus the hardtop, I think that’s ok…?

I will take proper pictures when I get the chance..private plate will not go with the car.

If you are genuinely asking for guidance on price I would suggest you would need to expect to be prepared to wait for a buyer at that price.

The roof is around £700 heading into summer. Black is a good colour.

Have a look for a z4 with similar miles, similar spec, no previous history, roof not working. If it’s a 3.0 the headlights aren’t original. I don’t think you’ll find anything sold near £4k I’m afraid.

Cheers for the feedback. It’s difficult to put a price on it. I looked at Autotrader and the cheapest 3.0 starts at 4.5k for an auto.

There’s obviously room for negotiation with my one. Not much i can do with lack of service history - but I’m going to have a go at getting the roof working one weekend!!

I have replaced the MV1 wheels for a set that are in better condition and now have almost new tyres all round. Seats replaced with standard seats.

Additionally I have replaced the drivers side engine mount bracket as it had broken and have also replaced both engine mounts.

The car has been fully detailed including a machine polish. It looks absolutely stunning now.

Have you checked the microswitch in the boot ref. the front motor not working? What light comes on when you try to operate the hood?

The micro switch has been shorted. It’s a red flashing light. The front latch is not unlatching. I haven’t looked into it any further.

the hardtop has now been sold so the car will be sold without hardtop.

I have managed to get the front latch for the roof working now so need to refill the pump and see if that works. Have also got another key cut so it now has 2 keys.

Price drop to £3600..
