My roof is going down then gets stuck near the end.

58130.jpgit starts off fine then as shown in the picture it just stops as if something is stopping it or blocking it maybe. Anyone had this before?

Check the parcel shelf. If one side is still up it can sometimes be enough to activate the microswitch but of course it will block the roof going all the way down

If the shelf is up the roof doesn't move and when the shelf is down it gets stuck as in the pic
OK, worth a check.
Next step I think is to check the hinge linkages both sides to see if any are snapped.

When it stops, does the motor stop running and the light go out, as though it thinks it's finished moving?

top up the hydraulic fluid
If that were low it wouldn't go back up. Not only that, but the only way the level can drop is through a leak. If you've ever seen just how fast the pump can empty the fluid out of the system you'd know it only takes one or two ups and downs to stop the thing working completely.

OP, although the shelf is down, it is worth checking that the two pieces on the ends that fold down afren't remaining wedged up.

Possible broken wire in the loom in the passenger side roof lining. It’s a little red wire that can break at the folding point. Impossible to see without unbinding the loom, but easy to fix if that’s the problem.

Very good point. I was reading it as though it was hitting a hard stop. 👍🏻

Mine started doing this after a winter of sitting outside and not being used - I think that things had just stiffened up a bit with age. (Happens to the best of us). I worked it up and down a few times, making sure that the hood was folding OK and helping it manually at the stopping point. Eventually there was a bit of a clunk and it went past the stopping point and has worked fine ever since. I'm going to get back in there and lubricate the pivot points, but in my case, it just needed some use to get moving again. Worth noting that I'd also cleaned, redyed, and reproofed the hood, which might have caused the fabric to stiffen slightly in place until it's used a few times.

@darren1990, did you ever resolve this?
I found one with the exact same issue yesterday. Took a while to work it out, but it turns out that the piece of trim that runs along the front top edge inside the boot, holding the vertical piece of carpet in place, was not held in securely. It stuck out just a few millimetres backwards at the top, which was enough for the edge of the window to catch it and not go fully down. This then got in the way of all the roof material.
Due to the faff involved in fitting it securely, with fasteners being hidden under the rear interior plastics, we decided to pull it right out for the time being and get back to it when we have more time to dismantle everything.
