Cant find the cause of the wet carpet

Had a soggy carpet (passenger side) and removed the seat to dry it out. Got it all dry by spacing it from the floor and sticking a fan heater in. Suspected the door membrane was the issue as it was leaking at the bottom so replaced it. Improved the seal on the rubber door seal and assumed I had cured it. Sprinkled some talc on the floor below the door and after a few weeks there were no track marks so I was reasonably happy. Went to fit the seat back in today and the floor is wet again at the bulkhead. No track marks in the talc so it aint coming in the door. Took the scuttle panel off and checked below the wipers but nothing in there points to a leak. All drain holes clear. Does anyone have any idea where I could look to find the leak? Pretty sure the water isnt from the heater as it is clean and clear.

Car isnt being used - just parked on the drive.

Any ideas?

I saw a car last year that had major water ingress in that area around the pollen filter

We sealed it with copious sealant which resolved the issue

I've got rubber mats which catch a good amount in heavy rain. It runs down inside the door jamb, runs into the frame seal at the bottom of the door and overflows into the cabin. I did once read a fix about a bead of silicon higher up to divert it "outside" which I've never got around to doing.

Stuck a cover on the car and will see if I can get a chance to investigate further over the Xmas break. Sealed the sound generator pipe and will have a look at the pollen filter box next. 99% sure it isnt coming in the door cos I sprinkled talc on it and there were no track marks when I checked. Can always check again.

I had a similar issue last summer with the coupe. It had been fine for years and then just started leaking. An inch of water in passenger side and no apparent cause. Tried all the usual suspects. Turned out the door glass wasn't sealing very well at the top rear corner. Adjusting the window angle and the door lock catch on the body so the glass closed on the seal more firmly seemed to fix it. Not sure how similar the E85 seal is but maybe worth a look.

Spot on markplant. Thought it was clear but that was the issue. Rear drain (where the roof motor used to be) spilling out and leaking through the join in the panels behind the passenger seat and into the cabin. Sealed the join and removed the debris in the tub (remnants of the plastic cable ties and a parcel shelf clip from when I moved the pump). Hopefully tracked down and will stay dry now.
