M market watch

It seems that a lot of interesting cars, mainly BMW or Porsche, from the 90s to around 2010 have suddenly taken a bit of a jump in value.

I see a few gt3 and the like that have been for sale for up to a year have all sold in the last month or so, certain BMW doing the same. Some air cooled Porsches have suddenly went a bit nuts.

Maybe it’s just the spring sun bringing out buyers, but who knows.

That Imola Red one has a less than "flimper" spec!

No parking sensors and just the basic stereo, although it does have cruise and heated seats.

Suspect spec is irrelevant to the majority of buyers that aquire the low mileage examples - it's not like they'll actually be using the car to drive around in.

i bought mine with about 39k miles in nov and spec was not that key (colour was) but i am using it like i stole it and spending a lot on it

Loved my Z4M for 11.5 years now and over that time the prices don't seem to have moved much with always about 30-40 cars for sale on autotrader. Prices do seem to have picked up a little this year and as we end the winter hibernation phase there's only 7 cars for sale on Autotrader if we exclude the Red coupe with deposit taken. So 3 roadsters and 4 coupes. Might help sustain the prices, not that I care as mine isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Or a good time to sell if you're thinking about it?

Autotrader is not the platform it once was. Lots of hoops for traders to jump through and i dont think using the platform as a lens from Z4M pricing and availability is relevant.

The volume of cars has plummeted in the last year or so.

I think there’s a few folk speculating that a v low mileage example tucked up in a garage is better than their retirement lump sum tucked up in a bank. 🤪

Speculation is speculation. Evidence shows these "high value" cars are incredibly niche and don't sell unless its a very specific collector. These cars are niche as it is. That being said it is time these cars increased in value it is criminal that a 80k Z4MR has a trade value of 3k and no wonder so many are being broken for parts.

A 3.0SI at 35k is silly money and can't see that selling any time soon.

Even more ridiculous. The community is small and threads like this aren't hard to find. People aren't stupid.
