What is it with women and cars?

I spent six hours today (yes six hours) cleaning the interior and exterior of my wife's car. I ran out of daylight before I could polish it!
It was filthy inside and out. The shite she accumulates inside that car is amazing.

Yet she spends the vast majority of her time at home cleaning! If there is a mark on any carpet in the house it gets instantly cleaned. She cleans the house windows, often.
So why the feck does driving a filthy, rank car seem perfectly OK? I just don't get it.

My sister's house is like a show home. Literally. She employs a cleaner three days a week and is also constantly cleaning it herself. Yet her Lexus is absolutely disgusting. There is shite all over the inside and the outside is always filthy.

My daughter's 'new' car has only ever been cleaned by me in the seven months she has owned it!

I never understood women before, but the complete lack of pride, or care, in automotive things (which are our second biggest asset) makes me wonder if they are the same species.

They aren't the same species, they have a chromosome missing!

But they aren't all the same. My sister seems to treat her car as a bin and her home not much better, whereas my Ex keeps her home and car spotless. Maybe that's why she's the Ex?

Her horse and the stable are immaculate, the pampered pony has everything it ever needs and is better looked after than me! Her car, I refuse to clean it, she gets a valeter in to do it every few months.

My wifes car is approachin 4 months old and been cleaned by me once! you could spend all day polishing it, if she gets in and sees a spec of dust on the windscreen, its straight on the washers, I have given up!. It gets replaced every ten months, it will next get a wash two days before.

I wonder if we had a female view on this would it mirror…

I can’t believe X… his car is like a shrine but he only changes his pants when the moon is on the wane…
When ever I clean anything in the house , my wifes usual comment is " clean it like you would a car"

Men are missing one of legs of an X chromosome, which is why we’re XY and women are XX

My wife has found a subscription car wash next to our daughter’s school. She pays a monthly fee and can have the car washed as often as she likes in that period. The inside is a mess of used tissues in the foot well and door pockets, scattered children’s toys, and mountains of other junk. Things that go in the boot often stay there for months…

Yes mine isn’t any better, she seems to clean the house all the time but the car is a mess, parking receipts on the dash, coffee cups on the floor, random stuff all over the passenger seat. She takes the car to the car wash when I moan about it. I hate having a mucky car.

Ditto. I was thinking of leaving empty water bottles all over the floor in the house, smearing chocolate on the sofa and sprinkling receipts on the bed. Then smearing mud on the outside of the windows downstairs.
It will take about 30 seconds for her to go ballistic. I could then say "I did it for you dear. I thought you would like the house to match your car".

It’s perfectly clear Andy. Heather has allocated the jobs according to her priorities. She cleans the house and she expects you to clean the cars. That’s the way it works in our house too. In the pecking order you are the bottom. Remember, happy wife happy life.😀😀😀

I keep my car pretty clean and tidy in the cabin and it's pretty tidy on the outside most of the time as well.
My house is an absolute tip though :ROFLMAO:

I think it is more that a house is foremost a home and car is a mode of transport, unless you are passionate about cars and, then it is more than a means of transportation. I would say that 95% of forum members are passionate about case and thus we keep them nice. I'm not sure that it's a chromosome thing per se, I see many cars owned by men that are mobile skips, just look at the inside of most white vans :poke:

I'm not going to ask why you know this. You obviously have experience of the inside of 'most white vans'. :poke: ;)

I have owned many 'white vans'. They were all spotless inside and out most of the time.
