E85 - will these work? BMW 416 8J x 18

Hi everyone. I've read loads of threads here and there about wheel set ups that work before upgrading. The set up I'd like on my stock E85 SE 2.0 are the BMW 416 8J x 18" with an offset of ET34 front and rear. Has anyone on here ever run with a offset of ET34 and knows if it works, looks good / ridiculous? The important thing for me is to not put strain on the car, no rubbing, and no sticking out the wheel arches. All opinions welcome and thanks in advance for the advice and guidance.

Also you can run anything from a 215-245 tyre but 225-235 is ideal…

They should fit fine.

I ran a set of E89 wheels on my previous coupe with M Sport suspension without any rubbing or protrusion outside the arches. The fronts were 8J x 18 ET29, rears were 8.5J x 18 ET40 tyres were 225/40 front and 255/35 rear. The fronts sat 5mm further out than your choice will, the rears 6mm further in but with another 12.5mm of rim width.

Photos295 Stagger 190918.JPG might help.

I just swapped the wheels and as it drove fine I left it at that, although I suppose ideally I should have had an alignment done.

@Meds runs 405m in 8x18” they are et34 and fit perfectly. Will look great without spacers required.
Yes, et34 on an 8" rim with a 225/40 tyre runs perfectly at stock height..
I do get the odd rub at Eibach Pro height, though. Much less with a +7mm spring pad adjustment, but still once in a while.
