hello from my z4mc

A similar path to me then.

I had a couple of 3 litre Coupes and as great as they were I decided I just had to scratch that M itch, and it really does feel special!

oh cool, good stuff. the S54 is a special engine for sure, and for some reason I always lusted after the z4 more than an e46 m3

So did I.

After I bought my first E86 I had an E46 325ti Compact as a daily and thought an M3 would feel much the same, apart from the engine obviously.

But my E86 always felt way more sporting than my E46 did so my M had to be an E86. In any case they come with most of the CSL parts, although that was painful when I needed new front brakes.

yes, the M tax is present for sure, very cool that they borrowed some key parts from the CSL though, but kept the essence of the Z.

the 325ti is a great car, really underrated in my view, one that i have in my history too

Congrats, what air box is that? Is it getting any air intake from where the cone is sat or does it need a longer snorkel?

i'm not sure of the manufacturer tbh, it's fibreglass with a carbon wrap - sounds brilliant. Good question re the snorkel, it seems to be working well, it's a 360 degree filter so air flowing up from below but there is no specific snorkel on it

Welcome to the forum Graham. I saw the clips on youtube you made about your z4 👍🏻

I just enjoyed watching your video Graham.

FWIW the Sport button only alters throttle response on the M because they have Hydraulic PAS, and the TC has a sort of half-way house setting in between "on" and "off".

I bought mine in December 2019 when car prices were in the doldrums so yours may not have been the cheapest ever.

Mine also has an Imola Red interior which I really like.

Apologies about the full frontal of the Compact but I think that is the best looking part of it, especially on a Sport model.
