To coil or not to coil (Coilovers or New shocks)

Hello, I'm in the conundrum of deciding if I should buy myself a coilover kit for my Z4 or if I should just replace the shocks since the ones it has are pretty much done for.
The issue falls on the ground clearance, my z4 has the sport suspension package, which if I'm correct lowers the car. I worry that by putting a coilover kit my ground clearance will get waaay worse.
I was thinking on getting BCRacing BR series coilovers

But from reading the page, it says that I will get, minimum, 2in in drop. Which sounds terrible from my current experience haha, not sure if those 2in in drop are comparing to a stock z4 and not a z4 with sport suspension.

The alternative will be to get some good shocks, like Bilsteins B6, but since the cost is very similar I'm unsure on what to do. Will I really get a 2in drop with coilover coming from a car with sport suspension?

We run all three of ours on B4's and M Sport Springs. It seems a great compromise.
They handle well enough for road use and the ride height is spot on , it takes the stress out of speed bumps and generally makes for a nicer all round drive. Two of ours are on 19 inch wheels too.
Its also worth noting that tired top strut mounts and shocks have quite a negative effect on ride height too, that has certainly been my experience on all three of ours.

I'd second what Jon said. I've done B4/normal springs on 16" wheels and B4/M Sport springs on 18" wheels now, in both cases they've been totally fine for fast road driving and cruising. It's more comfortable than the Fiesta ST which has a surprisingly jiggly ride, but doesn't feel any less connected to the road. We've hammered both Z4's over a variety of road surfaces at (legal) speeds and I'm quite happy with it.

One of the other factors - based on my old E46 with HSD suspension with solid/camber adjustable top mounts - is that you loose the rubber isolation in the top mount - and that really increased the NVH within the car. I hadn't really realised how much, until I went in one with standard suspension, and was like 'this is sooo refined!'.

Regardless of ride height/comfort, it's made me wary of coilovers/solid top mounts again. Anyway - just something else to consider :)
