Nothing wrong..

Trouble is with forums is that most people tend to post about their cars if there is a problem. If you are not careful you could read this forum (or indeed any car forum) and think that these cars are terrible, unreliable, and fraught with expensive problems.

Well, I am going to redress that balance.

I have had my 2003 2.5 auto for about 7 months, done about 3000 miles, and apart from a warning light pop up due to using 95 RON fuel (it disappeared after a few miles when I put Super back in) and changing a brake pressure switch (did it myself, £10 from a scrappy) it has been a joy to drive.

Did 140 miles in it Tuesday with the hood down and it was brilliant.

Just thought I would mention it...

Had mine since March 2016, had 83000 now at 93000, swapped out left wishbone and had mot since, no problem. Added rims, lower springs and in tomorrow fit Gap Tech. Runs nice so far

I know this is the wrong section but we have had our E89 for almost 4 years and covered around 26,000 miles, the car is now just under 50,000 miles.
Apart from a set of tyres and servicing the car has needed absolutely nothing.
Touch wood we will have loads of trouble free miles ahead of us too. :D

EDIT: Just remembered I had to remove the centre console to put 2 pins back in place for the armrest. Not exactly a major problem.

Great thread

7 years with a 2003 M54 2.5se and I've never had any breakdowns, fault lights or problems apart from a broken spring. Routine servicing/brakes and some suspension bushes refreshed, that it. At 7 years this is the longest I've owned a car......... and it's still on it's original 2003 battery :D

Had mine over 6 years now. I have done around 40k miles in that time. A couple of track days and autobahn runs. Regular service. Only failure of note was the radiator fan. Though the tyres and brakes have cost a small fortune over that period, but that's mainly because I enjoy :driving: my Zed, not using it to warm the garage.

I can't help thinking this is like standing with my legs wide apart and giving fate the opportunity to deliver a hard kick in the nethers, but so far I've had 20 odd thousand miles and almost 4 years of pleasurable ownership with no difficulties and lots of pleasure!
