Bit of a long shot but just wondered if anyone has ever owned an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Cloverleaf or QV, and could give an owners experience? I am considering getting one in the new year. I know its not a performance car but I think it would make a good daily and is a bit different from the usual ST / GTI 's about.

I know someone who had a giuilieta and the boot opened when he shut the drivers door there was another electrical comedy gremlin I cant remember but other than that it was a really nice car

I have seen one these pass through (I work in the motor trade). It did look great, however it had so many issues we traded out of it. That was a low miles example too, Im sure some will be fine but from my experiance I would give it a miss.

Colleague at work had one (the highest powered version) and ran it for 3 years. He used to drive it 'con brio.' I travelled with him a few times and it was a really nice cabin to be in. After 50k miles it was still a great place to be. He did not experience any problems in the time he had the car.

I am a self-confessed Alfista, though.

is there a difference in a giulietta and a giulietta cloverleaf?

i certainly like the the looks of a giulietta, if i was after a new dd i would be looking at a golf, a 1 series or one of these, i'm put of a 1 series cos of the rwd

The Cloverleaf is essentially to the giulietta what GTI is to the golf. It has a 1.75 turbo engine, similar to that in the 4C, with 235bhp but more impressive is the 251lbs of torque. 0-60 is 6.8s however it pulls well in the mid range. Depending on your thoughts though it does have the driven wheels the wrong end of the car! I'm looking for something less sporty and more comfortable now though.

Never been a fan of the golf, just looks so plain.

ok, as a dd i would not be wanting the top end car

only other thing that puts me off is i like full leather seats, from what i have seen they are split leather and suede

I'm sure the newer alfas are fine, though our 147 was a nightmare with it's electrical gremlins we got shot before the warranty ran out!

My mother in law has a 2.0 diesel cloverleaf, looks great, white with glass roof, great interior & a lovely car to drive, has a sports mode too which does sharpen it up a lot. She had an issue with gearbox (jumping out of 2nd) luckily was covered under warranty, one of the reverse lights went (wasn't cheap) also the usual Alfa anti roll bar issues. Cars only done 35k. It's an Alfa, style over substance.
