Hello,

Seeing as the forecast is so far showing good weather for Sunday I wondered if a few of you ///M guys wanted to meet up at Compton Abbas airfield, Dorset for a nice cooked breakfast, say 10.30? It's a lovely venue on the top of the hill, watching the planes come in, the car park usually attracts a few interesting cars too. Happy to show you Zig Zag Hill just around the corner afterwards (nicknamed Britains twistiest road by the BBC some years ago) :driving:

p.s nothing against non-M drivers, the cafe will struggle if too many hungry drivers arrive at once. :)

Cheers, Dave

I'd be quite up for that dave, at a loose end this weekend. 65 miles for me though so I'll see if any of my Dorset pals around that I could tie it in with.
Be interesting to compare the csl box to your eventuri, for the sake of science of course ;)
I'll drop you a pm once I work it out. Cheers.

we would be up for breakfast Dave, Comptons a great place, go there quite a lot in the summer to watch the crazy wing walkers could meet you there 10.30 Neil.

Would have but plans Sunday
Once weathers sorted itself out we should do cool M eets;)

Happy to convoy from Bath onwards Tom? Could meet at The Globe Pub car park at 09.30? http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/content/vintage-inn/en/restaurants/south-west/theglobenewtonsaintloe

Excellent, see you there Neil, I'll wear some sort of BMW clothing so you recognise me, either that or a Carnation and bowler hat?!

Shame you can't make it D4dawg, agreed it will be better in the spring and with more notice.

Anyone else? :)

Sounds nice, but not having an "M", I don't want to muscle in on your club within a club :P :P

I remember reading about the Ford Granada club splitting into many sub clubs because there were the Ghia owners who thought they were better than the L or GL spec boys. Now I believe they have returned to the Ford Granada club as they became quite rare and just like to have numbers of the same make at meetings.

Lol, you're very welcome to come along Firebobby. I remember organising a meet years ago for the Lotus 7 club, had 3 replies and then 20 cars turned up and I got a bollocking from the Cafe manager! That was all I was worried about, hope to see you there.

Cheers FD, I know what you mean about arrivals en mass, we had had meet with the MR2 club and more cars turned up than were booked. Panic stations for the poor old land lord

I might be able to get there, if you don't mind a newbie you don't know turning up ! its a great drive out there from here

You can't do this to me. Zig Zag hill has to be my favourite bit of road in Britain. I used to drive up and down it every week 17 years ago, on my commute from Plymouth to Portsmouth in my Mk1 Primera and believe me that car was made for that road. Have never driven it in a rear wheel drive car though, could be terrifying fun. :driving:

280 mile round trip is a bit far this time of year though. Don't expect me, but you never know.

Hi Geresey,
Yes, do come along, I still consider myself a newbie too having only met one forum member so far. :)

buzyg, I can totally understand you not driving that distance tomorrow but you'd be most welcome. Rwd is what makes that hill special ;) I'll take some video to prove it!

Looks like great weather until lunch time. Then very heavy rain across the area. Have a great run guys and enjoy one for me on zig zag hill

Have a great day guys!!
And Piccies please

I swear I'm sponsored by a film company haha

I love arty pics:)

Be Damn great to get a forum meet somewhere again
Or perhaps at Ace?

Pissed off missed it now

No arty pics, sorry, just the three of us there, good to meet you guys (and lady). :)

Not a great video either, pesky slow Dacia! Still, a good way to spend the morning, we'll arrange another meet early 2016.

Great video , it's a shame the hill isn't that bit longer (regular drive most days for 12 yrs) but still great fun. :driving:
