Chaps.

I know we have a few members in the West Yorkshire/Pendle areas etc, & I was was wondering which of any of the Main Dealers have impressed

to such an extent that one in particular is used regularly, or comes recommended.

I know we have a few within a 30 mile radius of Halifax.

I'd rather travel 30 or 40 miles on a recommendation than travel half a dozen and get poor service & stupid prices.

Cheers :)

Huddersfield are ok, never had a problem and I've used them for the past 5 years.

There are a few good indy's about too. Peter Van Der Veer and Bavarian motor warehouse have been recommended in the past.

Never used the main dealers at Colne, Manchester or Blackburn.

cheers mate,

Pm'd you the other day, did you get it?

Anyway, my thought process is to have any work required on the car to be carried out by a good specialist. The services I thought best to have done by the dealer

just for the stamp.

I've dismissed JCT600 at Bradford.

We getting together soon mate anyway, I need to know when you can get out along with Wilksy :D

No mate, I didn't get your PM.

Yeah we'll have to get a little run sorted out one weekend. There are a few members around Hudds and Halifax

Had a great run home over the moors today from Keighley , was lost at one point on the tops but dropped down from a great height opposite the little chippy in Cowling :?
Pity i was in the van or it would have been a real pleasure as opposed to a scenic commute :D

Wilksy,

Took that exact route home from Ilkley on Sunday"!

Cowling into Goose Eye, Haworth, Oxenhope, over the tops into Hebden , then home.

We were in the wife's asthmatic 8 valve Peugeot 207 :(

Now that is a shocking car :x

Haha , we had a 999cc Citroen for 12 days on holiday , at some point a PR whizzkid must have switched the "SH" for the "C" , it just increased my german car snobbery factor 10 fold , i would never buy any french car , just no good reason for doing so  they are woeful in every way :P

If you ever need anything other than servicing doing to your M i can recommend my Indy in Great Harwood . he is very clued up & ex BM master tech who does all the work himself & absolutely loves all things BMW

Tried to tell her that on the test drive, but it wasn't about quality or reliability, it was all about comfort, ( The ride is the only thing acceptable about the car).

She does a hell of a lot short urban driving.

Anyway next time it's a Jazz or a Hyundai i10, she has to park in some dodgy areas for work, stuff like that tend to get left alone.

Suzuki Swift or VW Up ?

Yep,

Good shout mate. Think the Suzuki swift's are a very underrated little car, tried to talk my lad into getting the sport, but he plumbed for a 1.4 Corsa SRI

and saddleworth :)

Yep some great roads up near there as well Taz,

I love the climb up from Dove Stones Reservoir... thing is in the stuff we drive it's all over in 10 mins.

Still, can always go back down and start again :driving:

lol, yeah I remember many moons ago going with the MX5 owners club to Donnington to watch a days racing.

Obviously we went the scenic route over the tops & on through Derbyshire.

Plan was to stop for photographs on the tops.

Set off in glorious sunshine, couldn't see a thing on the tops, no photos, & 25 mph in the gloom

Lloyds in colne have been good with me, but I haven't used them for servicing I use Forshaws bmwmini specialists for my services

Up-date chaps,

Took the car to German Auto Care, Pudsey, this morning. I have used these chaps before, & I have personally been happy with the service received.

They diagnosed the brake judder on the new ///M as warped discs.

Having them replaced next Tues with oem parts. Around the £500 mark all in.

Such is life!

Ouch, expensive introduction into M ownership.

Did that place in Pudsey used to be called B&M Care?

It sure did mate.

I know the lad Richard who works there. Regularly attends games at the mighty BCFC with me.

I do trust HIM. I have also seen some of the classics they have worked on over the years.

Problem is for every half a dozen positive comments you get on garage, you get one which makes you doubt or question the previous positive

experiences :?

From all the reading I have done there is one local company that seems to get regular positive reports - DARREN WOOD, STOCKPORT.

The jury is still out on whether I would use them or a good independent for the servicing on the ///M.

It's that damn book stamp on the M that help's it keep it's value.

As far as repair work is concerned it's a no brainer - good specialist every time.
