Got it finally 🤦

Still struggling with this MF.... I drowned it in silicone grease spray, I pulled from underneath with all my weight and it won't let go. It wiggles a little but that's it. Is cutting it off really the only solution left? 😵‍💫

After a few 100km I can say the car feels more alive around 3-4k rpm. It did get more noticeable 👍

Time for some new content. This weekend there was a nice experience possible after quite some years of absence - a museum steam train on the Bohinj railway. It's being the 120th anniversary of Bohinj railway. This is the section between Jesenice and Nova gorica. Back then that route was chosen...

Replaced vanos seals and the thermostat along the way. That was one hell of a job o_O It took me 12 hours... And the result is barely noticeable.

Not done yet but planning to do, maybe tomorrow - vanos seal replacement. How much time do I have to plan to take? Any special advice from vanos veterans? :)

Cleaned throttle body and ICV (and the engine bay along the way). They weren't that bad but the ICV would get stuck occasionaly when shaking it. I already noticed some improved engine smoothness.

Had an organised group tour today, there was this beautiful Z3 2.8i being a nice company. We had some sightseeing and tasting some local wine at the end

I did. And sprayed some on the rails as well. It got even louder then... After some rain today it got quieter. I'm starting to think the sound comes from the upper door edge, although it's hard to say because the whole door squeaks as one.
